Design for operators
Runbooks, support boundaries, and failure modes are part of architecture—not an afterthought.
About ForgeSpan / People and practice
ForgeSpan combines platform engineering discipline with clear, embedded collaboration. We work with the teams who build and operate services, shaping cloud foundations that make their work more predictable.
Our story
Cloud estates grow through product launches, acquisitions, regulatory change, and good teams solving urgent problems. Over time, those decisions can leave infrastructure fragmented and hard to change.
ForgeSpan is an international IT engineering company formed to help organisations bring those foundations back into focus. We pair deep engineering practice with the patience to understand existing systems, people, and constraints before recommending change. Our work is international in outlook and practical in execution: secure patterns, useful automation, observable services, and knowledge that stays with the client.
How we make decisions
Runbooks, support boundaries, and failure modes are part of architecture—not an afterthought.
Good defaults reduce unnecessary choice while leaving teams room to solve their actual problems.
Controls should be understandable, automatable, and proportionate to the risk they address.
We work in the open, document decisions, and pair with client teams as ownership grows.
How we work
We join the conversations where platform decisions happen and build alongside the people responsible for the result.
We learn how teams ship, what operations demand, and which constraints cannot be hand-waved away.
Architecture, code, decisions, risks, and measures are visible to the people who will own them.
Pairing and useful documentation make the result easier to operate and improve after our engagement.
The people behind the practice
Our team brings architecture, engineering, operations, security, and delivery together around the work.
ForgeSpan / Team
Chief Executive Officer
Eleanor shaped ForgeSpan around a simple idea: infrastructure should help good teams move, not become a separate obstacle. She brings executive focus to durable client outcomes and responsible growth.
ForgeSpan / Team
Chief Technology Officer
Marcus connects architectural intent to the engineering decisions that make a platform secure and operable. He works across cloud, containers, and delivery systems, with a particular interest in useful standards over needless complexity.
ForgeSpan / Team
Director of Platform Engineering
Priya helps teams turn internal platforms into products with clear users, measurable value, and reliable feedback. Her work spans self-service design, developer experience, and the operating models behind both.
ForgeSpan / Team
Head of Cloud Architecture
Daniel guides cloud architecture from early constraints through to implementation detail. He focuses on account and network patterns that are secure by default, understandable to teams, and straightforward to evolve.
ForgeSpan / Team
Head of Site Reliability Engineering
Amelia helps organisations make service reliability concrete through sensible objectives, observability, and incident learning. She partners with engineering teams to reduce toil while keeping customer impact in view.
ForgeSpan / Team
Principal DevSecOps Engineer
Oliver builds delivery paths where security checks provide fast, understandable feedback. He brings pipeline engineering, supply-chain controls, and infrastructure automation together so teams can fix risk early.
ForgeSpan / Team
Cloud Modernisation Lead
Sofia leads careful change across established estates, balancing the value of modernisation with the realities of running essential services. She is known for turning large migration ambitions into clear, testable increments.
ForgeSpan / Team
Delivery Director
Nathan creates a delivery rhythm that keeps decisions, dependencies, and risks visible without burdening teams with ceremony. He makes sure collaboration is embedded from discovery through handover.
ForgeSpan / Team
Security Engineering Lead
Harriet translates security requirements into controls teams can apply and operators can evidence. Her work covers cloud identity, workload protection, policy-as-code, and pragmatic risk decisions.
ForgeSpan / Team
Client Platform Partner
Leo keeps platform engineering connected to the people using it. He works with client teams to understand workflow friction, make the next improvement visible, and build internal ownership through shared practice.
